This ceramic filter idea is amazing yet so obvious and simple. Is this not a reproducible industry virtually world-wide? Could it not cure so many of the water problems in Haiti? In the video, I see many pots on the shelves and so many more are being produced every day. How are these things being distributed? (I assume they are being distributed.) Is BGR simply needing someone to provide the $25 per pot? What happens then? Do you need teams to deliver the pots to users and teach them how to use them? What can I do to help? I CAN! I'll send you my qualifications under separate cover, if you will let me.

My prayers are with you. I've worked with you in the past when the tsunami hit and was able to serve in Sri Lanka for 6 months doing relief work. When the go ahead is given for volunteers I would like to be on the list. The Lord will provide the healing if we just go and tell.

The need is great in AP floods esp. in Kurnool dist as the district never faced flood situation and the administration along with the population was caught unawares.
I did visit for a rapid need assessment myself. All roads as well as railway services opened on 7th Oct onwards.
The sanitation condition of the Old Town Kurnool is too bad. Rural areas could not be reached by any NGOs by then while state was preparing for reaching rations there. The flood victims of more than 1.5 lakhs are somehow managing to stay on the higher elevated land and main roads as well as with the relatives. So called relief camps are basically unorganized shelters and whatsoever was provided (food or water) were provided without any dignity. There is no sanitation or drinking water provision in these shelters.
Chances of outbreak of epidemic is atleast 2-3000 sanitation workers are not deployed in the afffected areas for cleaning at a war footing. Rural villagers are left out for cleaning their own homes without any support. The initial ex-gratia declared by the dist admin is not sufficient.
Dry food ration, dignity kit, hygiene kit, school kit and kitchen utensils are the priority.
In the long run, after a month or so, livelihood restoration program need to be launched.
People have lost everything from clothes, utensils, documents (whatsoever they had).
Water level in the city was ranging from 5ft to 20+ft.
The village Kotpotli in Nandikotri was completely submerged and 95% of the villagers belong to dalits and backward communities whose livelyhood is based on daily labor.
Please pray and give for the need in Kurnool.
