• 800 million people are chronically hungry at any given time
• Every day, almost 16,000 children die from hunger related causes; that’s about 1 every 5 seconds
• Out of 6.5 billion people in the world, 1.3 billion live in absolute poverty and another 2.6 billion live in moderate poverty
• 1.1 billion people still lack adequate access to clean drinking water
• 2.6 billion people still lack adequate sanitation 

Get involved by donating to the Southern Baptist World Hunger Fund to support overseas hunger needs. This is a "dollar in, dollar out" fund which means that 100% given goes to fight hunger and poverty. Your funds will help people meet and/or sustain their dietary needs. Examples of projects are:

• Digging water wells or installing water tanks
• Providing agricultural needs such as seeds or livestock
• Training someone so that they may work to gain a steady income
• Teaching someone how to properly handle food
• Distributing food after a disaster
