Length of stay including travel time: 1 week

Dates of travel: Anytime now through December 16, 2010

Team Size: 1-6 participants, college students welcome

Approximate Cost: $575 + international airfare

Description of the project:

This project will help participants learn how to build appropriate animal housing for pigs & chickens and will provide proper care techniques for the animals.

Volunteer work to be accomplished:

Team members will be consultants and help with the labor. The team will also teach proper animal care for the pigs and chickens, help in the design of appropriate living conditions of the animals, and give advice on care and medical treatment of the animals.

Skill Requirements:

Experience raising pigs and or chickens as well as proper building construction for housing the animals.

Living Environment: Living conditions in village are pioneer-like, no plumbing, electricity can be sporadic.

Special considerations:

Volunteers must be in excellent health as proper medical care is not readily available.
