Doutchimana Well Project in Niger

Several families in one village in Niger approached BGR partners with a request to help them develop a garden area outside their village.  The nearest well was over a mile away.  Having a source of water to start a garden would enable them to grow extra food to supplement their diets and sell in the markets.  Through Southern Baptist giving and with the labor of the villagers, a well was constructed to provide irrigation water. With the completion of the well, at least 20 families are eager to start gardening.
