Children were dying for lack of clean water
When Ella Creel heard children were dying for lack of clean water, she knew something had to be done.
Help us build 30 wells in 2012
Only about 12% of the people in one Central Asian province have access to a clean water source. Most of the province is rural, but it is fast urbanizing. Almost all the homes are mud brick. Electricity is sometimes available. Public works are not. Health care is basic. If a family cannot afford a deep well, they are dependent on community wells or water systems, which may not work or may be salty. Seeing this need for access to clean water, a BGR partner is working in 2012 to construct 30 wells with hand pumps and to repair broken pumps on existing wells. One well with a hand pump can serve 50 families.

When it comes to engaging a world in need, we value prayer above everything else. But Jesus specifically commanded his followers to "Go," and Baptist Global Response (BGR) encourages God's people to personally take the love of Christ to people in need. Each project described below includes contact info to learn more about how volunteers can help. General information about volunteering through BGR can be obtained by e-mailing info@gobgr.org.
Get involved with this great water project!
Pray for those who will be constructing the wells. Pray for community leadership as they work together to construct and maintain each well. Pray that as access to water is provided, God will be glorified and His compassion will be recognized by many.
