Meals for elderly tsunami survivors in Japan
One way BGR partners are helping is by providing free hot meals.
Baptist Global Response and its disaster relief partners are responding to thousands of people in desperate need after Japan’s March 11 earthquake and tsunami. More than 27,000 people are dead or missing and hundreds of thousands are struggling to find even the necessities of daily survival and cope with the emotional trauma.
Donations to BGR will help provide water, basic food items, kitchen utensils, hygiene supplies and other relief needs, as well as train volunteers who can help with recovery efforts and listen prayerfully as survivors share their trauma.

This has included distribution of food and relief supplies as well as providing emotional care for the victims. So many Southern Baptist volunteer teams have responded that a volunteer coordinator was needed! Praise the Lord that this volunteer request has been filled!
